A History of Our Love
On 2019 August 13th by montyTen thousand moons ago, beneath the light of stars,
In some forgotten kingdom realm of far away,
A pauper fled his prison cell of iron bars
and met his princess love upon the dawn of day.
For in each others’ souls there lived an endless fire
Which cruelly did endure a time of years apart,
Ignited first of passion, longing, and desire,
Residing time-eternal in their single heart.
And when their heaven-years on earth had reached an end,
That love continued living on in agelessness,
Through generations, all throughout the world, to send
A love immortal, threading through the two of us.
Our love has always been, and always will be so,
For though unique and perfectly shaped in our guise,
It is the love of myth and fable long ago
Which, fated, we established when we first locked eyes
And though, like those before, distance we saw, and doubt,
We’ll love, and love most pure, until the stars go out.
