The acceleration is like an irresistible tugging<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like being pulled forward by a current<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It feels slow at first<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Until I realise how far I\u2019ve gone<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Until I realise I am now running faster than a fighter jet<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The green streaking in patterns of dark and light beneath my shoes<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The hills jagged and looming but disappearing as they race the clouds in the sky<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The flowers and trees dancing and waving like fans in the bleachers<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ground rises and falls<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It loops and starts and stops and spins in an impossible mobius strip<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now and then I make contact with metal<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But I explode past<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I cheer at the rabbits, piglets, squirrels, seals, penguins, and chickens that I leave behind<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They won\u2019t keep up<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They can\u2019t keep up<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I swing from posts and bounce from screen to screen<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am always<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Going<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gold<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m not racing<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m not just running though<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am speeding ahead to save the world<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To save my friends<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To fight the good fight<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It may be a bright blue sky day<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But I will storm through the night<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through yards and scrap<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beyond marble and stars<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I only have myself<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But I know that my fight will inspire others<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My plight will lead to tales<\/p>\n\n\n\n
